Our school board is dedicated to fostering an environment where every student can achieve academic excellence and personal growth in a safe and supportive setting.
As elected representatives of our community, we are committed to making informed decisions that shape the future of our schools. Our responsibilities include:
- Policy Development: Crafting and implementing policies that promote high educational standards and equity.
- Budget Oversight: Ensuring that financial resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to support student learning and well-being.
- Superintendent Supervision: Collaborating with and providing oversight for the Superintendent to ensure the district's strategic goals are met.
- Curriculum and Instruction: Evaluating and approving curricula that meet the diverse needs of our students and prepare them for future success.
- Facilities Management: Overseeing the maintenance and improvement of school facilities to provide a safe and conducive learning environment.
- Community Engagement: Encouraging active participation from parents, students, teachers, and community members to foster a collaborative educational community.

Board of Education Goals (Adopted 9/2016)
- Continue our emphasis on rigor, relevance, and opportunity for all students to ensure that they can compete successfully beyond high school.
- Continue to responsibly manage fiscal resources.
- Continue to invest in and improve upon the most up-to-date technologies to support communication, instruction, and learning.
- Establish and grow relationships among families, businesses, and community members to provide opportunities to students and to support the Woodridge Local School District educational program.
- Keep all students engaged in learning by providing safe learning environments and delivering student supports through a continuum of services.
- Implement the master facilities plan to build and maintain the Woodridge Local School District campus. Develop and implement an appropriate plan for the off-campus facilities.
- Continue to actively advocate for adequate and equitable funding for all public school districts.
Public Participation
The Woodridge Local School District Board of Education recognizes the value of citizen participation in the affairs of the school district. As such, the Board provides a variety of options for citizens wishing to express their views. Although Board of Education meetings are meetings of the Board in public, they are not to be considered public community meetings. Community members are, however, able to comment at public Board meetings during the Public Participation portion of the meeting agenda. The procedures for public participation at Board meetings are announced at the beginning of each meeting. Additionally, citizens can send letters or emails to the Board which can be discussed in open session at the next Board meeting at the writer’s request. Citizens can call board members directly. Board member contact information can be found on the district website on the Board's page (view top of this page). Finally, citizens can request a private meeting with two members of the Board for discussion purposes. The Board recognizes the value of community engagement and encourages public participation.
