8th Grade Students Explore Future Pathways at Annual Career Day

Our 8th grade class recently had the opportunity to explore a wide range of future career possibilities at our annual Career Day. Students heard directly from Woodridge graduates and community professionals representing an impressive variety of fields.
Guest speakers included professionals in architecture, manufacturing, nursing, zoology, Navy diving, cosmetology, medical laboratory sciences, electrical work, construction and engineering, law enforcement and security, entrepreneurship, event planning, automotive service, photography, live art, fire safety, mental health services, and arboriculture.
Students not only gained valuable insight into the education, skills, and experiences required for each profession, but many also walked away with souvenirs and resources to help them continue exploring their interests. Most importantly, they left with a stronger understanding of the many different paths available after high school.
A special thank you to all of our presenters — especially the eight Woodridge alumni who returned to share their journeys and demonstrate the many ways Woodridge prepares students for success beyond graduation. We are grateful for their time and for inspiring the next generation.
